More budget cuts in Cc

"Dart, like other county officials, is in the middle of budget negotiations with board President Todd Stroger, who has asked all offices to cut by 17 percent.
Dart said he has a plan to cut between 10 and 11 percent without firing any of his 600 police officers and doesn't want to cut further. He said about half the officers are on routine patrol of unincorporated Cook County and the other half are assisting suburban departments as they did in this operation.
"A 17 percent cut would dramatically effect our role," Dart said. "It would be the height of irresponsibility."

Then you make a political infomercial implying that some are not cooperating with your 17% decrease not naming Tom Dart, but we know who you are implying about, and 182 busted for drugs by Tom Dart's department. Can he really cut more? There are criminals loose doing every imaginable thing like taking truckloads of vegetables, broccoli, asparagus, what vegetable is next? Or even worse than a truckload of veggies getting ripped off, how about the safety of people? You know voting citizens?

The results of the budget meeting:"As he left the Cook County Building after his 45 minute meeting in President Todd Stroger's office, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said he did not budge on the budget issue.
"My mission when I was elected sheriff was to make sure that public safety is first and foremost, and I'm going to stick to that," said Dart.
At a news conference Thursday, Dart warned that his police officers could not continue suburban drug stings if his $400 million budget was cut by 17 percent. That's the reduction President Stroger has demanded in every department to offset a looming $500 million deficit next fiscal year.
"We need every department to get to that 17 percent and bring it in, and then we can look at the whole budget itself and see if there are some spots we need to moving things around," said Todd Stroger, Cook County Board president.
The county's other elected criminal justice official, state's attorney Dick Devine, also claims a 17 percent cut in his office would jeopardize public safety.
"I'm just looking at it from the standpoint. As we do that, we have to be conscious
of what the criminal justice system is all about," said Dick Devine, Cook County state's attorney."

"CBS 2's Mike Parker reports, some are crying foul at what they say is pure patronage at taxpayers' expense."
Todd hires his friend's wife for a 6 figure job, Todd why are you increasing when you ask people to decrease positions?

I didn't know that Mr. Patrick is from the south side of Chicago. I know you are proud of your native. I wish him well as Governor in Massachusetts.

And Todd will be going down. hiring his friend for a job and shoveling that in people's face.. Todd is certainly the opposite of Mr. Patrick: crook vs. class. Patrick will do right by his own race in Massachusetts because he hasn't forgotten where he came from. On the other hand, Todd, the oreo cookie, will rob and steal from his own kind. What a shame...

Todd is a hard pill to take, especially about the way he got on the ballet, you know all the lies and deceit concerning his father. He got in on deceit and it's not going to stop.
But Forrest Claypool (commisioner who ran primary against dad-John Stroger) is right you can not cut in critical areas such as law enforcement and health care. And there is too much fat in some departments that have 1 supervisor for every 4 employees. Yes too many chief not enough Indians going on at Cook County.
