Arenda Troutman, tellin her side

Alderman Troutman said she was just repeating "All Politicians are Ho's" and those aren't her words even though they came out of her mouth

Excerpt from Chicago Tribune:
"A closer look has revealed that the parcel in question isn't in Troutman's 20Th Ward, after all, but in the 16Th.
While Troutman's lawyer is crying foul, FBI spokesman Ross Rice said the mix-up is a non-issue. From a legal standpoint, it doesn't matter," he said. "It's not an element of the crime."
But defense attorney Sam Adam Jr. said his client knows the boundaries of her ward and that the location revelation "should prove to everyone that there was nothing fraudulent going on"

"Later in the meeting Troutman entered a council anteroom to face reporters, but would not comment on federal allegations that she took money to help ease the way for a fictional South Side real estate development.Criminal complaint
Asked what she would like to say to her constituents, Troutman replied, "I certainly would like to say something and at this time I can't. I've been instructed by my lawyers not to say anything, but I certainly would like to say something."
Troutman, who allegedly was caught on tape in a federal sting saying that aldermen were "hos," was asked if she would like to address her council colleagues about the remark.
"I certainly would like to," she said. "I can't."
But after the meeting, Ald. Bernard Stone (50th) said he confronted her about the comment.
"I said, `You shouldn't say things like that,'" Stone related later. Troutman replied that a federal mole who played a key role in the sting that snared her "made a statement that all politicians are hos and alderman are whores, and she repeated the statement, and the repetition is what they taped and it was totally out of context," Stone said.

The address was 5730 S. Halsted, Halsted divides the 20TH Ward (Alderman Arenda Troutman's) East side of Halsted and the 16TH Ward (Alderman Shirley Coleman's) West side of Halsted. Even numbers are on the North and West sides of Chicago Streets. When she was given the address didn't she think, Halsted is a boundary street between Wards, Odd number address it's in my Ward, Even number address it's not?

And Troutman has been an Alderman since 1990? That gives her at least 16 years to know where her Ward is? Does she know her Ward? Or can she get additional charges for trying to make deals outside her Ward? Her lawyer and her think she can get off because it was not her Ward, but a bribe is a bribe, and this makes me think, does she try to conduct business outside her Ward? Hopefully the FBI thinks so too.

And she has a whole lot of excuses why she did not answer the door for the FBI and they had to break in. She also had a warm paper shredder and a lot of boxes taken out of her home, which is a very nice brownstone by the way.

LOL! I have to remember that. Taking a bribe is not a crime.. Go figure. I assume those pics are from a park. I like the sculpture in the first pic.

Marquette Park, the Memorial out of marble is at the corner of Marqette Road and California Ave. It is of a Lithuanian, and this was the predominant ethnic makeup of this neighborhood at one time.

You had put up a pic in a past posting of Marquette Park.. Unfortunately my parks don't have sculptures or art work like that. I have going to another area further from me to see some parks with sculpture work and capturing the ethnicity of that area.. My Mayor is spening ton of money to make my area more glamorized. And the same Mayor who collects a check and only comes out for photo-ops!

Marquette Park is BIG. Lagoon and all. The first and third pictures are of the same sculpture (marble thing) it has been there at least 25 years if not more, not a new addition by any means. The bridge that was in the Blues Brothers movie is closed right now because of the lagoon digging out.
