New Sheriff in Town

You may find a lot of unusual things around the State of Illinois, like the Shea Mueseum in Springfield on Route 66.
And now for some real unusual news coming out of Chicago:

Tom Dart was sworn in Friday as Cook County's first new sheriff in 16 years and said the position's $160,000 annual salary was "more than adequate."
Dart's comments came after former Sheriff Michael Sheahan filed a lawsuit against Cook County on Thursday, two hours before the close of business on his last day in office.
Sheahan says the county owes him and other top personnel additional money for running the county boot camp located next to the jail.
"I look at the salary that I get as covering everything I'm doing there, whether it's working ... in the jail or it's working in the courts," said Dart, 44, who's married and has three young children. "That was the salary I signed up for. ... It's very sufficient."

And what is a news day in Illinois without more ties, more places, to more coruption:
Rezko Iraqi ties

And some interesting news on Obama:
What does Obama think about the clean air act?

Spike talks with James Thompson about the ruling allowing George Ryan to remain free pending his appeal, as well as the decision for Ryan not to receive any pension. (7:53) (11/30/06) Very Optimistic former governor Jim Thompson, former Governor Ryan's pro bona attorney talks

And on George Ryan:

I don't know about you but I really annoys me when people like Dart has to question what is adequate and what is not adequate in salary. The bottom line is no one including myself will ever be paid what we are really worth. A job won't do that. And it doesn't matter what job you have. $160,000 may sound good to him but what about when his kids want to intend college and on? A job is a promissionary note and salary will never cover or exceed inflation in this country..

The museum is the Illinois State Museum in Springfield is the top picture, the other one also on the North end of Springfield is a Route 66.
Well Dart is trying to get Kudo's considering how much the County's budget short falls are.

Also it was a high of 15 degrees today. And indicted ex-Governor Ryan was seen at a skybox (heated and all) at Soilder's Field (where the bears play) it is between Lake Shore Drive and Lake Michagan.
Some say he got an extention on his jail time because he wants to stick around for Bears playoffs, maybe the Superbowl. They won thier division today!

O.K. the museum is in Springfild not Chicago..

"Well Dart is trying to get Kudo's considering how much the County's budget short falls are." It is more of butt kissing his salary. I realize that there a lot of cuts to budget in the county but make a public announcement of his satisfaction of his salary? Yeah o.k. Ask other employees in the country are they satisfied with their salary.. Now, I have people that I work with that chant that "they love their jobs" and they said that when the big cheese is present. But, then the big cheese is gone, they tell the truth. Just a front.

"Some say he got an extention on his jail time because he wants to stick around for Bears playoffs, maybe the Superbowl. They won thier division today!"

Please... Ryan jst want his last hurrah and shrimp and lobster meal when he got to the pokey next year. Next thing you know Ryan will say that he didn't want to miss the Rose Bowl parade or the Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl football game! LOL!

That's what our news people are joking about, since he has been seen in a skybox at the Bears game on more than a couple of occasions.

If you go to my link on WGN radio Spike show, I actually woke up to this program since I wake up to the news and have not had a chance to listen to the whole recording. and listen to the clip from former Governor James Thompson (whose law firm by the way did the Ryan trial pro bona) he is really optimistic about Governor Ryan getting off, he goes on to say that he is out while the appeal is going on because the Judges on the appeal panel must feel there is a good enough reason to appeal and also a good enough reason this trial has problems because of the jurors, two who were found out by our news people that lied about past convictions. Eight days into deliberations the two alternatives were put in and they started all over. (this is what I can remember about the jurors) I believe both jurors with past records they lied about when they were picking the jury both were replaced at the same time.

Oh and by the way one of the things Ryan said was he was afraid to leave his wife alone........Please! He went on so many trips to the Carribean etc. and those pictures showed up with all the others involved in this mess, she was noticably absent in all of them.
As a matter of fact he went on a lot of trips without his wife, Lura.
As far as the new sheriff in town, 160K is good money to live in this part of the country. I think of the owner of Jet Blue does not take an outrageous salary, just what he needs to live very comfortably on and puts it back into the company and pays his employees better. He has a few kids and he is making around 250K or a little less. That's why I would like to see a living wage, one people can actually live off of. Sorry I have been a Democrat and living in the Blue collar side of town, and I am still here despite doing better than most of my neighbors. I don't want to be in the rat race, dress like this, do this, have this kind of car, this kind of address, you know why PINK wrote the song Stupid girl about trying to keep up in LA.

Are you kidding here? No, he didn't! LOL! Does he think his wife will run away with the milkman or something? Give me a break. Ryan was living off the hog too long and got caught with his pants down in graft. And his confidence in getting off from his crimes is all talk and bullshit. And we saw what happen to the plans for the Gerbil and McTreason in the November election.

Yes he did when he was convicted that was the biggest joke, he is worried about leaving his wife. Now you see what an atrosity the whole Ryan thing is. When he said that all kinds of pictures came out in the press with Ryan on his many excursions, wifey noticablly abscent. Maybe his concil advised him to say that. Also not mentioned at the Bears games was wife not there.
Now Bolton is gone from the Gerbil Administration...just another part of the problem.

"Also not mentioned at the Bears games was wife not there."

The wifey is only there for show for Ryan's sake.. Ryan is just using the system. And his used the system and his name to commit his crimes... Yeah, Ryan's attorney told him to show an image of a husband and wife togetherness. Fact remains is that Ryan's ass is going to prison. So, he better enjoy all the shrimps, lobsters, box sets for sport games, and free chicken this month.

We can only hope he is going to see some jail time, but he is out and about during the appeal.

Yes, Ryan is out with a get out of jail free card.. Who is to say that his appeal will not be denied?

The only hope is the the Judges on the panel that decided to let him free during appeal with not be on the appeal panel.
    Special Prosecutor Biloxi said...
Well, let's hope so. I certainly wouldn't want the rugby man and his team's hard work go down to drain for indicting the pompous ass governor.
