CTA in financial trouble, again

The Sun is finally out! Now all we need is the above freezing weather they say we will get this weekend.

Daley's helpers

Alderman trying to spend more money They have a CTA person at every El station, cameras everywhere, and the CTA is in financial trouble? I personally do not think this is a good use of money. I am frequently on CTA, so I can say this.

Rumor!Forest Claypool will be on Obama's election committee if he runs for President, also he does not intend on giving up his Cook County Commissioner position since it is considered, a part time job.

Well, that is waste of money to have a CTA person at every El station.. What is the purpose of that? Besides, the city is hurting in budget.. Money should be allocated for important things..

LOL at the name of huck finn donuts in the pic? I assume that you go there to dine at.. Oh I saw a McDonalds on one of the pics. Every corner of any state has a McDonalds....

This is the main donut joint, no Krispy Cremes on the South Side, it has been there for years and years. They used to just be donuts.

That was like one of the early McDonalds in the neighborhood and you would have to go quite a ways to find another one.

    Hello fellow South Siders.

Readers of TGCN might enjoy perusing this new site as much as I do: www.aldertrack.typepad.com

Allows you to follow the increasingly competitive South Side aldermanic races.

Also since we already have one person at each station (which is all that is usually needed during slow hours, and there are more during busy times).
I have to admit CTA is good about adding extra trains & buses & staff during events, parades, fests, sporting events etc. But a conductor? With CTA budget problems? That would be an extra person they would have to put on payroll.

Hey thanks anon. You must be a South Sider too. I am sure you have had a Huck Finn Doughnut or two!

So, I take it that more Krispy Kreme shops are in the downtown area I assume...I have to travel to get to a Krispy Kreme shop. It is about 1 hour drive.. But I am not a Krispy Kreme fan. I had the donut only once. I had dunkin donuts growning up. But, I started eating more bagels because I just hang out with Jewish kids in high school. Just got hooked on them with some strawberry jam..

"That would be an extra person they would have to put on payroll."

And additional amount of money to dish out for a city with no budget.. Insane...

I know there are a lot of Dunkin Donuts downtown, Potbelly Sandwiches, Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, Corner Bakeries, Well maybe there are some Krisy Kreme? But I really don't know where? Oh I just looked it up....no there are two just outside the Loop on the West side of it? I know there is one out by me, still can't compete with Huck Finn!
