It's safe on the South Side, Really!

Is it safe? Well if you have a North side address, nothing is considered safe south of the Loop. OK, this South Sider is tired of hearing if it is safe where I live. Yesterday, someone was surprised that Ford City Mall is still safe to shop at? OK, Northsiders, just to be safe "DO NOT GO SOUTH OF THE LOOP", and quit asking me if "It is still safe, here, there, or anywhere on the South Side", Thank you in advance for not asking anymore!

    Good Morning/Afternoon:

Looks that mall had less parking spaces.. That is not near the mall where that alleged bomber was going to bomb is it? So, Congressman Jackson's wife is running for office. What is your take on that?

I must have been standing kind of close, there are quite a few spaces. This mall is close to Richard J. Daley College, as a matter of fact you can look out the windows from the west side of the college and see the mall. But seriously a lot of people use CTA (transit) anyhow so how many parking spots do you need? There have been a few gang related shootings, but I am not a shopper and especially not one to hang out in a Mall so I park by the store only go into whatever store and get out.

The Mall that had the possible alleged terrorist plan was at least 45 minutes northwest from Chicago.Actually almost Wisconsin. Ford City Mall is in the City on the South Side.

Jackson's wife is running against Darcel Beavers....lot's of luck, and even that won't be enough. Jesse Jet Set won't be able to help (That is what we call Jesse Jackson Sr. here in Chicago), as you can see when he is in Chicago.

They could break records this year for how many throw their hats into the Alderman's races around town.

As for snooty Northsiders, I tell you some days they are hard to listen to. There was an incident that hit all the papers because some owner of some coffee shop owner (on the North Side) put up a little polite sign saying could you please keep things down to a roar or I can't remember, but it was an ultra-polite way of saying control your brats. And a bunch of Northsiders who go into these trendy places to hang out with each other and let the kids run amuck got so offended.....PaaLeeze! (south side for please, and sarcastic) but over here on the South side we "keep it real" and "tell it like it is" and a coffee shop owner here would have came out and told them to control the brats! The owner of this shop got a lot of support from other shop owners who were all over the news saying they have kids running amuck while their Moms socialized etc. (up north), and it's hard to be as polite as possible and tell them to act like responsible parents A whole 'nother world up on the North Side!

Always reminders I should stay South!

One of my friends moved into Marina Towers (corn cobb buildings) and right before the holidays someone was passing out do's and don'ts for how to put up Holiday lights on the balconies with pictures! PaaLEEZE! And Get Real!

Oh please.. give me a break.. Some people have nothing better else to do...

So, that mall is close to the Richard J. Daley college. Wasn't that the college that you put up as one of your posting? Am I right?

p.s. there are still problems trying to post under my blogger name. This beta blogger is annoying...

Yep, the one and only Richard J. Daley college was pictured here a while ago. Mostly bungalows (houses like in my neighborhood, with just walkways in between) and alleys, factories, not the touristy part of town!

Your getting the idea on why I will not defect to the North side!

No I'm not happy with the Beta version either! Still too many bugs that need to be worked out!

It sounds like you are more comfortable on the South Side. The North Side sounds like the 1980's version of Beverly Hills.. A bit snooty.. I don't have a problem visiting the wealthy side of town but I just don't like phoneys or people that try to keep up with the Joneses.. I know some people who are financially independent and they are not snooty and they don;t live in the North side type or Beverly Hills. They are just everyday folks and down to earth.. I just like to hang around people who are down to earth: wealthy or not.. I just have the problem of snooty people who feel that they are better than everyone elese...

OK now the latest on the Jackson/Beavers Alderman run.

Bill Beavers said that Jackson was paying a buck a signature for the alderman petition, and not letting homeless people back into shelters unless they got enough signatures. And he has rounded up these people. In the meantime Darcel Beavers was at her first City Consul meeting where she thanked her father, and she will be an alderman for a long time!
