George Ryan needs prison

George Ryan ex-Governor, wins one today, looses one today. Sorry his picture is not straight, but niether was he.

Looses pension

But he is free to get another job

What would Steve Neal think of all of this? And then news is not in on the Steele situation. Bobbie Steele will get a really nice pension. Will her son Robert be in her vacant Commissioner post soon? Who will be in Todd's 8th Ward Alderman position? Will it be William Beavers daughter?

Will Jesse Jackson Jr.'s wife go for William Beavers 7th Ward Alderman's position? Now that William Beavers left his Alderman position to get appointed to the vacant Commissoner seat?

    Good evening!

I had trouble getting on your blog. Thanks for the pics. Nice pic of the convict Ryan. Well, tha's good that Ryan was denied his pension but unfortunately he is free to roam around the city on bail. Hey, nice pic of Lincoln Library. I didn't know there was Lincoln Library in Chicago. I still haven't gone to the Nixon Library yet.

No the Lincoln Library in in Springfield, Illinois our State Capital. Steve Neal one our best Political writers fought for this library. Steve Neal was also a Political writer for the Chicago Sun-Times.

It is actually a library and museum all devoted to Lincoln. It is really worth the trip. Before going there I suggest a trip to the Old State Capital, and Lincoln law offices accross the street.
They recreated the inside of these complete with wax?, people. It was amazing how in the scene where Lincoln's body lay in state in the House of Representives, Old State Capital in the exhibit at the museum has every detail recreated down to the woodwork. There is a recreated scene of the Ford theater, his New Saleum, Illinois home, his Kentucky childhood home, a cabinet meeting at the White House with all his staff.
Plus there is a lot of Good Civil War exhibits, and there is a theater which makes you feel like you are there, I suggest you start there after walking past the White House exhibit.

    Good Morning:

Thanks for the clarification of the Lincoln Library. You have to excuse me for not knowing the whole state of Illnois. We are only told of Chicago only on the media in my state and not anywhere else.. I am sure my city would never been mention where you are at. Now, that would be one library that I would interested to see. Recreation of different historical events from Lincoln? That would be very educational for sure... Springfield? LOL! Is that the name of the Simpson's place??

And I didn't the state capitol of Illnois is Springfield. I would have been the one on the bench with a fruit basket with that question. I certainly wasn't the history buff in my family...

I try to get to Springfield every so often. There is always a lot to do there. Of course I went the year the Lincoln Library opened, just had to check it out since I'm into Museums and historical stuff. I would only drive down there in good weather only. I would not want to be on the Interstate (I-55) which starts at LSD (Lake Shore Drive) in Chicago and goes, to Springfield (Capital) and well at least to St. Louis, Missouri. That is as far as I have taken I-55, which is also called the Stevenson Expressway(here where I am in Chicago) until you get to someplace south of the City.
A few years back we had a shooting in the Capital and unfortuatley one of our news crews on the way back from covering it had a fatal roll over accident on I-55, it was Telemundo, a Chicago Spanish news Station.

Well, Springfield is a city to spend a day there since it is a further. Whenever, I am going to so type of cultural events or seeing museum, I like to spend part of my day to enjoy and relax. A couple of months ago, I went to a Festival of the Arts to see many of the different art and sculptures. It was a 1 1/2 hour ride but the the festivals was very huge and very bad and expensive parking. I was giving a free ticket. So, it was fun, And that eveny is once a year.

By the way, how far are you from Michigan. A friend of mine went to this area of Michigan and told that me that was nice to go to:
    MACKINAC ISLAND.

Here is one of the pics.

Gosh Michigan especially Makinac Island is got to be 9 hours at least. I have not been there. Just to get to the Wisconsin border is 1.5-2 hours for me. Indiana is an hour. I think you can get to Makinac from the East side of Lake Michigan. It takes 9 hours to drive to Minneapolis from me. Michigan is a wierd state that it is on both sides of Lake Michigan. But I avoid the "Skyway" or "Tri-State" going to Indiana, it is one traffic mess always, those are the two tollroads that go from Chicago to Indiana.

You are close to Wisconsin and Indiana? I had no idea that Michigan is 9 hours from you. That is equivalent for me to drive to Sacramento. And I certainly didn't drive to Sacramento alone. I had another person in the car. So, we took turns driving.. I would fly to Michigan. Now is there a airport in Michigan?

And Chicago to Wisconsin is equivalent to my area to LA.

On the West side of Lake Michigan is one part of the "state of Michigan" that must be 9 hours, because you have to drive through Wisconsin to get there, the East side of Lake Michigan, is the other side of "the State of Michigan" and that means driving through Indiana to get there and that is 3.5-4 hours, but Makinac is way up north so I am guessing 9 hours?

Michigan is home of Michigan State in East Lansing, a big 10 college, also Detroit is a big city, Benton Harbor is big, I am sure there is quite a few airports, I just have not been to Michigan much, just Detroit and Benton Harbor and those were 4-5 hour drives if I remember right.

I never been to Michigan. The only thing that I know about Michigan is East Lansing. That is where Magic Johnson is from. Interesting that I mention Michigan. I was accepted to Michigan State along with Princeton University for college. But, I applied to Michigan State as an alternative because Magic Johnson went there. But, I didn't choose those school and ended up going to a a two year school and tranferred to UCLA. UCLA had a pilot program in which certain students chosen can go to a two year school in which worked with UCLA and would be guaranteed to get into UCLA. I was one the first people to be on that pilot program. And currently the school continued the program. Unfortuately, it is differcult to get into that school now.

It is too bad Michigan has so much high unemployment.. I believe that Michigan will change around for the better with the new elected officals in that state.

Everyone is going to college now because that is the theme (current administration of Gerbil).....and so many are out of work...even the City Colleges (Richard J. Daley, Washington to name a couple) are not having any problem getting students. I know some people whose kids are having a hard time getting in schools that used to be easier to get into, especially U or I where a 4.o is not good enough, you also have to have higher by already taking college courses SR. year and being the top 5% of your class.
Yes kids are seeing how hard it is to get work and listening to the cough Gerbil everytime he has a State of the Union talk about you need and EEducatshon (Gerbilspeak).

And you know that is a shame that people who to go back because they can't find a job. Schools used to crack down on people who make going to college a career and never graduate and switch careers.. And the tuition keeps going up.. What other options people have now and days if they can;t find a job or go to school. As you said, colleges are giving tougher competition for students to be qualify for the school. And they certainly should ban SATs. I took the SAT once and barely pass that but had a higher GPA. But, the school have completely changed the rules.. The students have to suffer and be denied to attend college and an education where we have a town drunk President who his Daddy paid for his degree, doesn't know his ass from his elbow, and preaches about 'no child left behind.' What a f**king joke!
